GO! Teams

Preparing

four more

trips in 2010

Our Global Outreach (GO!) Teams are on the move this last half of this year. Here is the list of venues and dates for upcoming teams:
  • Kenya- September 28- Oct. 12 (team closed)
  • Atascadero- October 7-10 ($275)
  • Arizona (San Carlos Apaches)- November 4-7 ($350)
  • Tecate- December 3-5 ($150)
We're hosting a meeting for each of the teams Sunday, September 12 at 1:15 in Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite fast food lunch, we'll provide drinks, and each team will discuss plans, answer questions and get their GO! Team rolling!

Ask God if He might want you on one of these teams as we continue to join God in what He's doing in our world.

Ours is a personal, yet very public faith, and because of it we make it our priority to reach out both around the corner and around the world to cultures and people groups to whom we're sent, sharing with them the life-giving hope found in Jesus. Currently at KACC, reaching:

Around the corner includes-
  • The Pantry (Community Assistance)
We offer groceries, bus passes, referrals, a listening heart and prayer to those both inside and outside our church family each Monday and Thursday afternoon from 1:30-3:30. Providing for families and individuals is our opportunity to connect those in our community with people willing to walk with them through difficult times.

  • Community Supper
The last Friday of each month (except July) we host an evening meal for those in our community. There are no strings attached for those who attend, but simply an evening out on us, with great food, friends and an opportunity to connect with those of us willing to share our our lives with others.

Around the world includes-
  • Global Ministries Support
Our Global Ministries oversees the financial support we provide for more than forty missionaries, projects and organizations throughout the world. KACC gives 10% of all monies received to missions, and 2/3 of that goes directly to the support of domestic and international workers.

  • GO! Teams (Short-Term Missions)
KACC is committed to raising and sending short-term Global Outreach (GO!) Teams, both locally and globally. These teams are designed for service in different areas of the world, finding ways to creatively connect with the local church, as well as the unchurched in other cultures.

  • Sending Workers to the Harvest Field
Besides financial partnership with global works and sending teams to serve, we also focus on training and deploying those who've taken seriously God's call to them to go into all the world and make disciples (Matt. 28:19). Through local service, continued discipleship, educational training and short-term experiences, we prepare men and women for the task of world evangelism.

Seasonal Events and Projects-

  • Backpack Giveaway
During our August Community Supper, we offer backpacks and supplies to the children of our community as they prepare to return to school. The last couple of years have seen more than 700 at the Supper, with more than 300 backpacks being distributed! And all the packs and supplies are donated by KACC members!

  • Alaala Ng Pasko
Each October we collect canned meats as a Christmas gift for pastors and their families in the Philippines. Working with the California Christian Mission to the Philippines in Project Alaala Ng Pasko (Remembrances of Christmas), we gather Spam, Vienna sausage, corned beef and salmon for these committed Christian workers.

  • Operation Christmas Joy
We help provide Christmas joy for children in our surrounding community through the sharing of gifts and hope. This is an outstanding avenue to present the gift of Christ to many open families, and allows us to extend our influence into areas we might not otherwise see. Last year we provided gifts for 150 children, all given by KACC members.

You Can Make A Difference-
There are many ways and places for you to connect with others, both locally and globally. It's our hope that you'll reach out and try different ministry possibilities until you find those that best suit your gifts and heart.

Why not begin somewhere nearby and ask God to expand your borders of influence and opportunity? There's a world waiting for you, and it begins at your front door! Launch out and discover the blessings God has for you as you give away your faith to the many who are waiting to receive the hope that Jesus has to offer them.

Going together for the Kingdom,
Mike
